Born in Manly, NSW. From a young age she was always passionate about horses. Noted Australian artist and family friend Arthur Murch nurtured her artistic curiosity and encouraged her obsession .
During her childhood years he taught her how to draw and paint a horse anatomically correct from the inside out, by learning the bone structure and muscle formation.
Maria went on to study art at the Randwick School of Graphic Art,
and later at the Institute of Technology in Sydney
and worked in various commercial art positions .
She now has a studio at her home in Mid North Coast NSW
where she has built up a reputation as a fine equine artist, portrait painter and illustrator .
